Angela Knight

Angela Knight is the New York Times bestselling author of books for Berkley, Red Sage, Changeling Press, and Loose Id. Her first book was written in pencil and illustrated in crayon; she was nine years old at the time. A few years later, she read The Wolf and the Dove and fell in love with romance. Besides her fiction work, Angela's publishing career includes a stint as a comic book writer and ten years as a newspaper reporter. Several of her stories won South Carolina Press Association awards under her real name.

In 1996, she discovered the small press publisher Red Sage, and realized her dream of romance publication in the company's Secrets 2 anthology. She went on to publish several more novellas in Secrets before editor Cindy Hwang discovered her work there and asked her if she'd be interested in writing for Berkley. Not being an idiot, Angela said yes.

Angela lives in South Carolina with her husband, Michael, a polygraph examiner and hostage negotiator for the county's Sheriff's Office. The couple have a grown son, Anthony.

Networking and Promotion at EPICon 2011 -

*Hospitality Suites- The EPICon Committee will pick up $20 per night for no more than $60 per group (the difference between the price for a standard room and a suite for 3 nights) for up to 10 qualifying groups holding a meet and greet with at least 7 invited guests or open invitation to all convention attendees. Events will be promoted at the convention. For more information and rules, contact epicon2011.contact(at)gmail(dot)com with HOSPITALITY SUITE QUESTIONS in the subject line.

*Pitch Sessions- If you are an agent or publisher/editor that wishes to give pitch appointments at the convention, contact epicon2011.contact@gmail.com with PITCH REQUEST in the subject line.

*Convention sponsorship- Both New Voices Competition and EPICon proper are looking for sponsors. Sponsors receive promotion on the web site and on site at the convention. Sponsorship can be arranged with the publisher liaison, Lorna Collins, at 31months@cox.net with EPICon SPONSOR in the subject line or newvoices.chair@gmail.com and epic.competition.chair@gmail.com with NEW VOICES SPONSOR in the subject line.

*Promotion in convention bags and or New Voices Bags- For rules and shipping information, contact Kat Lively at klively@phaze.com with PROMO AT EPICon in the subject line after December 15th, 2010 or Marci and Debi at newvoices.chair@gmail.com and epic.competition.chair@gmail.com with NEW VOICES PROMO in the subject line after December 15th, 2010. While we highly encourage promos that include CDs, flash drives, pens, pins, and other novelties, we do realize we will get paper promos and will not turn them away. All promo must be PG-safe. Please ask for full rules before sending anything.

*Binder Ads at EPICon- Binder ads at EPICon are affordable and flexible. While we require that all promo at EPICon be PG-safe, it does not have to be for PG-safe books. Prices for EPICon binder ads range from a business card size for $15 to a full-page ad for $75. Full-page ads are 7"X10": all are full-color and may be submitted in PDF, JPG, TIFF and GIF (300 dpi resolution is best). For more information, please check the binder information page.

In an effort to reduce waste and the amount of gear attendees have to carry home on the plane, convention attendees this year are being given the option of a CD binder. But that doesn't mean your ads won't get seen. Ads will be packaged in the class files on the CD, as well.

*Publisher Panels- EPICon features two publisher panels. The Friday one will be for erotic (sensual romance, erotic romance, and erotica) publishers. The Saturday one will be for non-erotic publishers. For more information, contact the publisher liaison, Lorna Collins, at 31months@cox.net with EPICon PUBLISHER PANEL in the subject line.

*Presenter perks at EPICon- Presenters at EPICon receive a couple of perks, including $30 off the convention registration fee and half off a full-page ad (or a free smaller ad) in the binder. To offer to teach a class or host a panel, please contact our class track coordinators, Ashley Christman and Elizabeth Schechter, at epicconclasscoordinator@gmail.com with PRESENTER INFORMATION in the subject line.

*Membership perks at EPICon- Members of EPIC pay $30 less to attend the convention than non-members pay. If you are eligible to be an EPIC member and plan on attending EPICon, why not join and enjoy the first year on us?
